The season of Whiting?
Mr. Liam Hatcher

The season of Whiting in Darwin?

I received an e-mail from very good friend of mine.
Mr. Liam Hatcher is a young able angler.

hi hro,

these are the fish that i caught today off the beach at lee point. i tried to burley at low tide with bread and a bread fly but nothing showed up to eat it. i walked off the rocks onto the sand and saw these silver flashes in the water not far off the bank. so i quikly opened the fly box and selected a small white popper that i tied only the night before and started fishing about ten minutes later i spotted a small school of whiting and casted to them. it took a little while for them to get interested then they started to rise up and have a go at the fly. after about 5 minutes of some topwater action with lots of whiting coming up and attacking the fly... bingo! got one!
about ten or so minutes later the tide started to really come in and i spotted some more flashes in the water and casted to them. nothing for a bit untill i catsed in the a small gutter and out comes a little stripey fish which was the second and last fish for the day. i tried a couple of more times but it was time to go.

cheers,

liam.

Stripey fish

I didn't know the season of Whiting in Darwin very well.
Normally, we understand that we can catch Whiting in the same season as Bream.
It's a very, very interesting result!
Very nice activity, Liam!
