Japanese Barramundi
AKAME
Mr. Nobuo Negi

Mr. Nobuo Negi is a very experienced and skilled professional fishing guide in Japan.
His main target fish is AKAME.
AKAME is Japanese Barramundi.
There are some small differences between Barramundi and AKAME.
But I can't tell those differences very well.

These following pictures were sent from Japan by Mr. Nobuo Negi last night.

AKAME has a deeper body.

He has a website of his fishing guide as follows,
遊漁船 龍馬

Barramundi lives in Japan too.

Barramundi fishing in Australia is the No.1 to me.

Barramundi lives in Japan too. Shimanto river in Kochi prefecture and Oyodo river in Miyazaki prefecture are very famous for Japanese barramundi.

Japanese name: Akame

Akame means "The red eye".

Wikipedia

The Japanese lates differs from the barramundi in several features. It has a deeper body, longer third dorsal and second anal spines, fewer pectoral fin rays, more scales, and fewer gill rakers.[1] It reaches a maximum length of 130 centimetres (51 in) and a maximum weight of 33 kilograms (73 lb).[2]

Barramundi lives in my original home town too, Shibushi Bay in Kagoshima prefecture. The local name is Kawanube as barramundi.

Thank you very much for ryancyanyan's amaging video.

Thank you very much for TheTKmarina's amaging video.
10 years old boy caught a nice sized Japanese barramundi.

You could see the big Akame 1.15m 25.4kg caught by very famous japanese angler Jim Murata as follows,

村田基どっとこむ

Strictly speaking, Australian barramundi is slightly defferent from Japanese barramundi. It's very difficult to say their differences each other.
Barramundi, Nile perch and Akame are very sister fisfes.
