56cm Barramundi #1201
Barramundi #1202-1203
Yo-zuri MAG Crystal Minnow F85
Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm

Saturday May 25, I went fishing at Myilly point rocks.
The sea water was very clear at the outgoing tide but very murky at the incoming tide.
Using Yo-zuri Mag Crystal Minnow F85, I caught a 56cm barramundi and a small barramundi.

I took a 56cm barramundi home and released a small barramundi.
In addition, using Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm I caught and released a small barramundi.
I thought that barramundi is not suited for the sashimi with soy sauce and wasabi.
But this was the first timeI found out how to deliciously eat barramundi's sashimi with soy sauce and wasabi.

  1. Bleeding fish as soon as it's caught is important in preserving the quality of the fish meat.
  2. Ice the fish immediately.
  3. Sprinkle sea salt on fish fillets.
  4. Keep fish fillets in the fridge for one night.
  5. Cut with a very sharp knife into slices.
  6. Eat sashimi with chilled soy sauce and wasabi.

On the other hand, using Kewpie roasted sesame dressing, you can deliciously eat freshly caught barramundi in sashimi.

I'm very careful about freshness and hygiene with the raw fish.

54cm and 52cm Barramundi #1199-1200
Reidy's Junior B52
Zerek Flat shad

I went fishing at Mindil beach rocks by my 50cc scooter on May 19. It was windy but the sea surface was not wavy in the dry season here.  That is different from the wet season.  The water was very clear.  I came to the edge of the retreating water, and wading a little way in, I saw many stingrays swimming in the knee deep water.  I walked in sliding steps so that I would not step on the stingray with foot.  I was stung by a stingray while walking in this shallow water in the night before.  I feared I should die at that time.  The water was colder than I had expected.  It was not too much to say that the water was a first-rate-clear water.  A colour called Kryptonite of Reidy's lures is a natural for the first-rate-clear water.  I used Reidy's lures Junior B52.  A good-quality fishing reel having a high-gear ratio has a good command of Reidy's lures Junior B52 in a knee deep water.  I used Shimano Antares DC (Digital Control) MDXG (Monster Drive Tuned High-gear ratio 7.8) as a fishing reel.  As a result, I caught and released a 54cm barramundi.  In addition, I caught and released a 52cm barramundi on Zerek Flatshad 85mm.

54cm Barramundi #1198
Squidgies Fish 80mm

Saturday May 11, I went fishing at Mindil Casino rocks in the late afternoon.
The another name of Mindil Casino rocks is Myilly Point rocks.
The tide was coming in.
The water current was flowing slowly.
Barramundi didn't respond to any hard-body lures.
They wouldn't take any soft plastics of equal to or 10cm.
I used a 8cm Squidgies Fish having Lime-Lightning colour with a jighead.
It seemed like barramundi had no odd feeling to this 8cm soft-plastic shad and slightly bit it.
It wasn't easy to hook the barramundi.
When a barramundi is cautious, I use a steady retrieve for a soft-plastic shad without any actions.
I tried several times.
A barramundi suddenly took my soft-plastic shad.
I have become enslaved by a sudden strike or pull of the barramundi since I caught a wild barramundi the first time I tried it.
As a result, I caught and released a 54cm barramundi having a beautiful silver body.

Barramundi #1197
Egret Wedgetail Mullet

The traffic accident occurred to me on March 8.
I lost my Honda 150cc scooter.
Despite how hard I tried to drive a scooter safely, I was involved in a traffic accident.
I still have to walk with a limp.
However, I wanted to fish barramundi.
So I went fishing at Mindil Beach by my 13years old 50cc scooter on May 8.
It was a black, moonless, night.
It happened but lately.
There was a witness account in which a crocodile was reported to be seen on the surface of the shallow water in Mindil Beach.
The tide water was going out.
The wind grew decidedly calmer, and happily the sea fell with it.
I cast a 8.5cm soft plastic shad at the mouth of the small creek.
Using Shimano Curado DC (Digital Control Braking System) reel, I can relax and leave my lure casting with DC in a black night.
Soon a barramundi took my lure.
He gave a strong pull on the fishing line.
I caught a barramundi for the first time in two months.
