Though it's Wednesday, the Channel Island was very crowded with fishing people.
I should avoid fishing locations where people crowd.
Thursday on November 22, I went fishing at Fannie Bay rocks.
There wasn't anyone at this place but me.
I used a 6'6" medium-action fishing rod.
Usually, a medium-action fishing rod is cheaper than a fast-action fishing rod.
I think a medium-action fishing rod useful for beginners.
You can enjoy lure fishing at reasonable price.
The result will be better than you expected.
As a result, I caught a catfish, golden snapper, rockcod and barramundi on Zerek Live Cherabin 100mm having a white colour.

Thursday on November 23, I went fishing at Mindil Beach rocks.
The weather of the wet season is unstable.
The thunder was rolling in the distance.
I used Yo-zuri Pin's Minnow 90mm having a gold colour.
I used a 8'6" long-sized medium-action fishing rod.
As a result, I caught a 50cm blue salmon.
This fish was a good fighter.

Soon, the thunderstorm broke.
I didn't want to be struck by lightning.

Sunday on November 25,
I went fishing at a place near my place.
As was to be expected, there were not many people there.
I used Yo-zuri Pin's Minnow 90mm and 8'6" long-sized medium-action fishing rod again.
As a result, I caught a 50cm GT.
This fish was very tenacious.

I made sushi with GT.
I had normal sushi and zuke-sushi for a late lunch.
The flesh in fish that was marinated in soy sauce and mirin seasoning with a little ginger.

 When making sushi, forming of bite sized sweet-vinegar rice is the highlight for sushi chef to show his technique.

Queenfish #30 Rockcod #342 Barramundi #1155-1156

I usually specialize in fishing barramundi on lure by land based on shore.
I didn't fish as usual at Channel Island on last Saturday.
Using a new fishing reel having a digital control braking system, I wanted to try to fish other than barramundi.
On the other hand, this was a good opportunity to get to know about the usability of my new fishing reel.
After careful thought, I chose to use Berkley Gulp Minnow 95mm/chartreuse colour because it's windy and the sea water was dirty.
Normally, I use a steady retrieve when presenting soft plastics for catching barramundi.
I used a steady triple hops/ a single pause retrieve for using Berkley Gulp Minnow 95mm/chartreuse this time.
As a result, I caught and released a nice sized queenfish and estuarycod (rockcod).
I was very much delighted with the results.

I moved from Channel Island to East Point in search of the next productive fishing window.
It's windy and the sea water was dirty again.
I used Yo-zuri Super Shallow SS Minnow 70mm/chartreuse colour.
This lure has a very attractive wobbling action to barramundi.
As a result, I caught and released two barramundi.

Quite unfortunately, Yo-zuri SS Minnow became discontinued in Australia.
The combination of fast wobbling action and chartreuse colour is ideally perfect state for catching barramundi on lure by land based in shallow clear/dirty water.

I'm living near the water for fishing.
On my days off   I'm usually out, going out for fishing.
This is about how I spend Sunday.
"The best tide shifts with the best fishing point every hour."

Sunday of June 3
First, I went fishing at Mindil Beach.
I caught and released two barramundi there.
I used Yo-zuri Mag Minnow 90mm Floating.
This lure has an amazing cast-distance.
It's a very effective lure for the rocky shallow water.
The seawater was so clear that I could catch these barramundi while viewing the barramundi that was swimming in the shallow water.

Second, I went on fishing at East Point.
I waded through a knee-deep shallow water to the rocks.
We always must look out for crocodiles there.
I caught and released a small rockcod on Zerek Venus Trap 50mm Vibration Sinking.
This lure looks great and is very well made.

After that, I had lunch at my place.
Mindi Beach and East Point are 10minutes away by my scooter from my place.
I went fishing at Fannie Bay after lunch.
I caught and released a catfish.

Since the frequency of the neap tide is higher recently, a nice sized barramundi won't come near the shallow waters in the day time.
In this case, the transparency of the seawater has increased.
I can fish whatever sight-fishing I like in this situation.

51cm Barramundi #1075 Rockcod #340 Squidgies Fish 80mm Need protective equipments

I went fishing Lee point on Sunday morning.
The tide was going out.
I waded through the shallow water to the rocks.
My spike sole got caught the oyster-rocks surface and stumbled at the time of walking.
As a result, I fell into the water.
I had experiences that I fell down and got injured  many times on the rocks.
Then, I always wear protective equipment, knee pad, elbow pad and gloves during my land based barramundi fishing.
Thanks to those protective equipments I didn't hurt myself.
The atmosphere of this accident can be seen in the video on YouTube "Land based barramundi fishing needs proper protective equipments".
Mr. Jackson Dick did the same thing at Mindil beach spot and ended up with 8 stitches.

This picture accounts for the importance of the protective equipment.

By the way,  I went to East point to fish on Sunday afternoon.
The tide was coming in.
I caught a 51cm barramundi and a rockcod on Squidgies Fish 80mm Black Gold.
The sea water was cold and very clear.

Rockcod #339 57cm Barramundi #1046-1047 Squidgy Pro Mongrel

Happy New Year!
On the 26th of December.
Today was blessed by the weather.
But it will probably keep raining tomorrow too.
I went to Channel Island this morning.
There was no wind.
That meant that there was no fish-bite.
The tide was ebbing.
A breeze started blowing and ruffled the water.
The first fish was a nice sized rockcod.
This strong cod took a 115mm Mongrel.
The hook was damaged by this strong cod.

Nice restaurant sized rockcod on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 115mm Aussie-Herring colour.

I exchanged a 115mm Mongrel into a 90mm Mongrel.

A sea barramundi doesn't like too much land water.
I had to cast the 90mm Mongrel farther.
By the way, do you know that a sea barramundi takes in much sea water from the sea.
On the other hand, a fresh-water barramundi doesn't take in fresh water very much.

I caught two 57cm barramundi.

Restaurant sized Rockcod #338 Squidgy Pro Mongrel

I went to East Point to fish after work.
I caught a restaurant sized rockcod on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm Rainbow Fish.
Rockcod is probably thought to be a low rated fish for eating.
Rockcod is regarded as inferior in flavor to that of coraltrout.
It is all right, somehow.
Nevertheless, deep fried rockcod with sweet and sour sauce is very delicious.
My most favorite rockcod dish is steamed fish in Hong Kong style (Cantonese style).

Full moon nights Rock cod #337 ZEREK Flat Shad

I went to East Point from Saturday to Tuesday to fish.
So I walked through a long mangrove-path in the dark.

The moons were nearly full and shining brightly.
The water currents were moderate.
The waters were very clear.
The sea surfaces were flat.

Barramundi normally become very cautious under the conditions as above.
Moreover, it was thought that the explosive noise of the jet fighters made the sea surface panes treble slightly.
I didn't have any bite of a fish on my lures in most of my fishing time.
This bite of a fish happened just once.

Unfortunately, I didn't catch a barramundi.
As a result, I caught a rockcod on a ZEREK Flat Shad.
That is to say, it turned out that my fishing-theory wasn't wrong.

Rockcod #336 Bomber Long 15A Nicely restaurant sized rockcod Steamed fish in Hong Kong style

It has been a windy day since yesterday afternoon.
Many sea weeds were thrown upon the beach.
There were many floating seaweeds on the sea surface this morning.
Barramundi won't take lures positively under the condition like this.
There are, indeed, exceptions.
As far as my experience goes, the red-white lure is effective for the condition under the gloomy light of the street lamp or the morning time.
Rockcod is a very tasty fish if it is steamed properly.
It must be very fresh. No freezing!
I caught a very nicely restaurant-sized rockcod this morning at Fannie Bay.
