71cm Barramundi #1114 Squidgies Fish 70mm 8m tide

The tides were very big, with the 8m tide, on January 4.
I went fishing at Channel Island.
The drift of the tide was very fast.
The situation of the seawater was changing every minute.
The best tide normally shifts with the best fishing point every hour.
However, the best tide shifted with the best fishing point every 15minute at that time.

The seawater came up to my knees.

The seawater was murky.

I was casting lures while being cautious about the oncoming of a crocodile in the shallow water.
The productive fishing window was very short when the tides were very big.
That was a once-in-a-short productive fishing window.
Adding a scent of Squidgies S-Factor as a fishing attractant to my soft plastic lure, I caught a 71cm barramundi.

I used a small soft plastic shad lure of Squidgies Fish.
Ultimately, the success of the land based barramundi fishing in my usual fishing locations depends on the casting distance of small lures.
The very thin and strong fishing line is very helpful and useful to my land based barramundi fishing.
As fishing tools improved, I can enjoy my land based barramundi fishing.
Light and durable fishing reel and rod are very helpful to me too.

72cm Barramundi #1088 Mangrovejack #50-51 Squidgies Fish S-Factor

Sunday morning.
It was a high tide in a big tide.
I was thinking about going somewhere today.
This time, the same as always, I can't decide where to go fishing at the last minute.
I must take the weather into consideration first when go fishing.
The wind was high at that time.
So I went fishing at the mangrove swamps.
5 - 10 millimetre new jelly prawn were splashing about on the surface of the water.
I thought that barramundi or mangrovejack were still moving about in search of new jelly prawn.
I am into Squidgies Fish 70mm Lime Lighting with S-Factor these days.
It is a way of dealing with the jelly-prawn season.
I had an intense fish bite when I was winding the lure along mangrove trees.
As a result, I caught and released two mangrovejack, a 72cm barramundi and three small barramundi there.

71cm Barramundi #1037 Squidgy Pro Mongrel Something unusual happened in food chains.

Last weekend, I caught a 71cm barramundi at Channel Island by making full use of my own information system for thinking device just like a pearl grader for pearling.
I work for the Paspaley Pearling.
Paspaley Pearling is, of course, a famous pearl-producer of Australian South Sea Pearls, who makes the world's best pearls.
Checking pearls is something that is appropriately estimating the growing condition of mother pearl oysters for me.
Due to my job, fishing barramundi is something that is guessing the environment surrounding barramundi for me.
As you know, I have no car or boat.
In order for me to efficiently catch barramundi on lures by land based around Darwin city, it is important to understand several interrelated food chains in the shallow water, weathers, water temperatures, tides, fishing locations, barramundi's life-cycle and barramundi's trait of being cautious.
I need to judge that as a whole.
As a result, this may sound like blowing my own horn, but I could have an invisible skills dependent on experience in land based barramundi fishing on lures.

Am I exaggerating the barramundi fishing?

Please overlook that because I'm a pearl grader for pearling.
It will be all right to you, somehow.
Because you know that things do not go by theory alone.

I sometimes feel anxious about the taste of sea-barramundi this year. 
Even for me that was unclear to understand the phenomenon of a decrease in flavor.
I asked my big boss, Mr. James Paspaley, for his advice about this matter.
His opinion was clear and explicit.
Barramundi didn't take in jelly-prawn very much this year.
His remark pulled me up sharply.
I haven't seen any big schools of jelly-prawn in my usual fishing locations this year.
Now I see the light.
Conversely, it shows the fact about something unusual happened in their food chains.
Isn't that just what you'd expect from the top person of the Paspaley Pearling?
He certainly has the character of a truly great pearling man.
That's why the Paspaley Pearling can make the world's best pearls.
I caught a 71cm barramundi on a Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm Buff Mullet at Channel Island last weekend.
Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm has been very successful in my usual fishing locations so far this year.
It is not extraneous that large outbreak of jelly-prawn is decrease.

70cm and 62cm Barramundi #1033 and #1034 Maria MJ-1 SF110Squidgy Pro Mongrel

It's natural that there are some places having high cost effectiveness for the sponsors of Million Dollar Fish.
I heard that some barramundi with a red tag were released from the boat lamp at Channel Island too.
So I went to Channel Island to fish and sought out that chance.

The tides on October 8
03:35am--3.15m
09:10am--5.64m
16:13pm--2.31m
22:32pm--5.89m

The tides on October 9
04:25am--3.56m
09:39am--5.16m
17:03pm--2.72m
23:27pm--5.55m

I caught 70cm and 62cm barramundi on October 8 but didn't catch any fish on October 9 at Channel Island.

The best tide shifts with the best fishing point every hour.
There was a widespread milky water there on October 8.
There was a stretch of seawater without current or movement on October 9.
In addition, the current caused by tides was very slow.
The seawater was clear.

71cm Barramundi #1032 Squidgy Pro Mongrel FG Knot

Of course we knew that FG knot should be an ideal leader knot for fishing on lures.
But it took too long for me to tie it.
That's why I used the kaneit knot or the slim beauty knot depending on the fishing situation, my good fishing friend used the albright knot.

I went to Fishing & Outdoor World the other day.
My good friend, Ron Voukolos explained by demonstration how to tie the FG knot for me.
In addition, he recommended me watching the following YouTube Quickest Way to Tie the FG Knot (The Strongest Braid to Leader Fishing Knot) - YouTube .

The FG knot was infinitely easier than I thought it was.
I can tie it better for me at home than I can tie it at my usual fishing locations.

The tides on the day I went fishing were:
05:02am -- 3.36m
10:28am -- 5.46m
17:52pm -- 2.30m
00:20am -- 5.68m

There was a high possibility that barramundi won't take lures from 05:02am to 10:28am.
There was a once-in-a-day chance, I can only fish in the afternoon.
The muddy water was about to mix with the clear water in the shallow water at Channel Island.
I used a dark-colour Mongrel in accordance with the cloudy-skies situation.

I left my place a little past 7:30am on last Saturday.
I went to a petrol station nearby my place first.
I had my 150cc scooter filled up at the petrol station.
It took 60minutes from my place to that fishing location by my scooter.

The tides were good.
I expected that there would be frequent fish's strikes on my lures.
I wasn't counting on that.
I had hundreds of the twitching actions on my lures with fatiguing my left arm.
I'm 55 years old now.
I needed frequent breaks.
Using a small popper, I was relaxing my left arm.
A 64cm barramundi suddenly took a Halco Rooster popper 60mm into the water.
The fishing line was forcibly pulled by this 64cm fish many times at short intervals.
So suddenly that  I could not help checking the hooking, but in another moment I recovered myself, feeling sure that it must be a real barramundi fishing.
I enjoyed his forcibly pulling fishing line very much.

He jumped again.

70cm urban saltwater barramundi #897 SQUIDGY PRO MONGREL

Barrmundi might have come back to our urban shallows earlier than usual this year.
The quiet September might have finished.

I caught a 70cm urban saltwater barramundi this morning.

First, I went fishing to an urban small creek near the beach around 7:30am.
The tide was coming.
The sea surface was slightly wavy.
The condition wasn't bad for catching a barramundi.

After all, I couldn't catch any fish at an urban small creek.
I moved to an urban rocks next.

This urban rocks are very dangerous.
I have to prepare the knee pads, elbow pads and gloves worn for protection against danger.

Luckily, the sea surface was slightly wavy when I hooked this barramundi.
And then it went to calm and flat soon after this.
There are many difficult rocks under the water here.
It took 10 minutes for landing this fish.
I had a good time for the first time in a while.

Saturday evening 72cm urban barramundi #872 MARIA MJ-1 S110F

Slightly wavy surface of the sea brought a very fat 72cm urban sea barramundi to me.
I couldn't catch any nice sized barramundis in these two days because of the flat surface of the sea.

My theory comported with the facts again.

The tide was going out.
It's the sunset time around 2.5 hours after the highest tide today.
The water current was moving well.
Maria MJ-1 S110F is a great lure for our shallows.

Sunday morning 77cm 13LB Barramundi #862 MARIA JERKBAIT MJ-1 S110F

I got up early this morning and went to urban rocks at the best timing of the today's tides.
The surface of the sea was slightly wavy.
That's an ideal condition for catching a barramundi.

I failed to hook some nice barramundis at this point in this one week.
I needed a very nice shallow-diving jerkbait.
My choice was a Maria Jerkbait MJ-1 S110F shallow type.
My very good friend, Chonga loves it very much.

The action of this lure was same as a REBEL minnow.
In addition, it should be stronger.

The early bird catches the worm.

Tuesday night 78cm Urban Barramundi #832 LIVELY LURES MAD MULLET

Knowing that Mr. Sean Anderson caught a 106cm urban barramundi by land based with LIVELY LURES / MAD MULLET in 2012, I tried to use it for my land based barramundi fishing.

It's a surprisingly very nice lure!
Swim very well!
Easily control it!

The tide was very good tonight.
The surface of the sea was very rippled.  It's very nice!
It's a day of the full moon.
I haven't caught many fishes when the moon was full.
ｖ(｡・・｡) 
I didn't catch any fishes at the full moon last time.
Probably, the tides were too big.

The urban small creek is very narrow.
Only 1.5m wide.
