Brett found a very secret point.
Urban Barramundis
Mr. Brett Parsons

I heard that Brett has caught some barramundis constantly by land based in Darwin harbor.

I received an e-mail from Mr. Brett Parsons last night.

Hi Hiro,

I got these two barra and cod today at XXXXX. I could have more barra but lost another 3 all in the space of 45min, its very rocky and is hard on your own to get them in sometimes. You only have a short window of getting them before it gets to shallow.
I was using a 5 inch B52 in olive with 30 pound Finns braid and 50 pound fluorocarbon leader.

Cheers
Brett

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Brett.

106cm Barra / August 2012

94cm Barra / December 2012
91cm Barra / February 2013
58cm Barra / April 2013
106cm Barra/ May 2013

I received an e-mail from Stephen.

Hi Hiro,

The neaps this weekend wasn’t good for us landbased fishos.
Water conditions were too clear and a bit windy at our usual places.
So I went exploring around the foreshore near the CBD.
It was early in the morning and was a bit worried about some of the long grassers camping down near the old oil tanks.
There was a patch of dirty water coming through on the incoming tide.
I saw a lot of GT’s or skinnies busting up on baitfish further out.
But I could not cast that far with my light gear.
So I targeted this patch of dirty water.
Lo and behold this beauty struck.
It is now my personal best at 106.5cm.
Who knew that you could catch a fish like this on these tides and at this location!
I will try it again the next set of neaps. But I think I just got lucky.

Tackle used was:

Gloomis 6’3” Bronzeback spin rod

Shimano 2500FE Stella

Tasline 25lb braid

Sunline FC Rock 50lb Fluorocarbon leader

Lure used was a Halco 105mm Hamma in Colour Caviar R35.

Very well made lure with interchangeable bibs. 1m and 2.5m diving depths and built in rattle.

Steady retrieve with small pauses.

Incoming around 4.0m.

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Stephen.

Monday morning
Under the difficult condition
Urban barramundis
Mr. Carlo Chonga Esmaquel

Chonga caught two sailfish by his boat last week.
He came to our land based fishing this morning.

The tides were not so good.
The surface of the sea was flat.
The water was very, very clear.

It's very difficult for catching barramundis this morning.

Chonga's choice of lures was K-O TACKLE TAIL BAITZ.

As a result,

First barramundi

Chonga prepared landing a barramundi.
Very nice! Fish was very safe.

Monday morning
Urban Bream by lure
Mr. Keith Watson

Normally, breams are coming to our shallow in June, and staying until August.
No one has caught a bream by lures on this shallow.

Keith was the title holder of the biggest bream in BBBDHI 2012.
Therefore, that's like Keith Watson.

He caught a very rare bream on this urban shallow this morning.
Of course, he used a lure.

Catching a bream by lures is much more difficult than catching a barramundi by lures in Darwin city region.
I thought that we should better keep secret what lure Keith used for catching a bream.
Because we have to win in BBBDHI 2013.

Monday morning
Barramundi #774
SQUIDGY PRO MONGREL

The tides were still not so good.
The surface of the sea was flat.
The water was very clear.
The condition was slightly better than yesterday.

I was standing on a very high rock in level.
There was a large difference in height between the water level and the rock level.
Therefore, even a small barramundi pulled my fishing line very hard.
After all, I couldn't land up the other one.
