Colour and action of hard body lure for catching barramundi on our shallows?
For beginners
Lateral line

Probably, lure-makers and fishing tackle shops don't like this topic.

Barramundi can see some colours and feel prey and predators with eyes and lateral lines very well on the shallows.
On the other hand, they can occasionally catch prey without seeing

Lateral line should be a kind of a measuring instrument that sends out an acoustic pulse in water and measures distances in terms of the time for the echo of the pulse to return.
(I think that lateral line doesn't produce an acoustic pulse.)

That's why they can catch a small SQUIDGY FISH / SILVER FOX, BLACK GOLD (Soft plastic swim shad) in the dark.
Lateral line should be a brilliant performance-organ.

REBEL MINNOW 115mm
This lure has great horizontal side to side action so that this lure can avoid snagging rocks.
Your skilled twitch of the fishing rod will generate walk the dog action under the water.
In addition, the unique washbord-body textures produce attractive reflected-lights, noises and waves in the water.
These actions of this lure have great appeals for barramundi's eyes and lateral lines.
Ideal minnow for catching barramundi in the quiet  and slightly noisy water on our shallows.

Reidy's HELLRAISER 65mm
This lure has great wobbling action for barramundi.
This lure is a shallow-diver lure.  But it's a bit different from other available shallow-diver lures - HELLRAISER can swim at a slightly deeper range of the water.  Therefore, I need to negotiate the oyster-rocks carefully when using the HELLRAISER.  But that's also why we can catch more smart-thinking barramundis.
This lure has a great appeal for barramundi's lateral lines.
Ideal crank-bait minnow for catching barramundi in both of the quiet and noisy waters on our shallows.

YO-ZURI SS MINNOW 90mm and 65mm
A super shallow crank-bait minnow perfectly suited for shallow water game fish.
This lure has a very attractive wobbling action to barramundi.
This lure has a great appeal for barramundi's lateral lines.
Ideal crank-bait minnow for catching barramundi in both of the quiet and noisy waters on our super shallows.
The SS Minnow is also great for barramundi when used as a wake bait.

What colour do you use for catching barramundi by land based on our shallows?

I recommend a following rotation to beginners.
  1. Your favorite colour
  2. Bait colour
  3. Green (chartreuse)
  4. White
  5. Shiny colour
