The wind greatly influences the fishing result.
Mr. Shaun Battye

It is very good news that the run-off trips seem to be off to a good start.
On the other hand, I went fishing at Channel Island as always.
Including me, there were 6 people there.
A gentle breeze sprang up, disturbing the surface of the shallow water.
I was moving forward as the water got up to my knees while being cautious with stingray, sea snake, stone fish and crocodile.
Hooked a barramundi one of them.
He, Shaun Battye, landed a 56cm barramundi.

Shaun used Berkley Gulp Grub Soft Baits of a strong chartreuse.
He released that fish, and the wind died away.
After that no one had fish bite.
Things went by theory as a result.
Barramundi have the habit of moving to the deep places from the shallow places in the sea when the sea surface is very calmly flat.
Because they need to take refuge from their natural enemies.
Their bait animals also need to take refuge from barramundi.
The wind condition is an very important element in the land based barramundi fishing in the shallow water.

64cm Barramundi #1116 by Hiro
62cm Barramundi by Mr. Keith Watson

My very good fishing friend, Keith Watson and I went fishing at Channel Island on January 20.
It rained hard on the previous day.
There was much fresh water in the shallow water.
We didn't have any fish bites for a while.
It was sunny, but in the meantime it began to rain.
I thought that the sky looked lowering, but it wouldn't be much of a storm.
I spoke to Keith.
"The very beginning of rain is a big chance to catch a barramundi on shore."
Rainfalls and clouds changed the water colour of the sea from moment to moment.
We matched the colour of our lures with the constantly varying water colour.
Keith used Berkley Gulp Swimming Mullet 10cm Pumpkinseed.

As a result, he caught a 62cm barramundi.

I was casting lures at a deeper water than Keith's fishing point.
The reason I chose Squidgy Pro Mongrel 90mm Aussie Herring was because its colour also matched with the water colour.

As a result, I caught a 64cm barramundi.
Things did go by theory this time.

Boat fishing with my very good fishing friend.
Jelly prawns in December

Saturday morning, I went to Dinah beach boat ramp.
My very good fishing friend, Keith Watson, invited me to go fishing by his 5m boat.
We were moving about in search of clean waters in Darwin harbour.
There were some nice shallows but the water in those shallows was cloudy with silt from the land.
It seemed like the possibility of catching barramundi were low.
Keith took me a long sandbank.
Many small drains were coming out of the mangroves, or run offs from sandbars at low tide.
Baits were holding in the mouths of small drains up in the shallows.
Keith caught a threadfin salmon and a blue salmon on his favourite soft plastic.
He used Gulp Swimming Mullet Pumpkinseed with quivering his spinning fishing rod.

Keith was really good at using spinning fishing rod.
I also prefer to use Gulp Swimming Mullet Pumpkinseed for the fresh water barramundi and Saratoga.

This boat fishing with Keith was a constructive fishing for me.
I saw many small jelly prawns were showering out of water.

It is thought that there are usually two huge outbreaks of new jelly prawns around the beginning and the end of the dry season.
However, if the condition meets, there is an outbreak of new jelly prawns all year round in Darwin harbour.
I could confirm that this time.

Because Million Dollar Fish Season 3 made a good start, I have received many inquiries about the best tide for the land based barramundi fishing.
The best tide shifts with the best fishing point every hour.
I'm wishing you success in secret.
Actually, that mostly depends on the weather in December.
The salt concentration of the seawater is low after some rains in shallows.
A strong wind often blows after work.
This is difficult for me.
I should go fishing at creeks in December.

I wanted to catch a Bream.
It's very easy to catch a Barramundi in Darwin.
But it's extremely difficult to catch a Bream by a lure in Darwin.

Junglepearch 1
Berkley Gulp Alive
Rainy Season
Fresh water land based fishing

The road to the best fresh-water creek was blockaded.
Mr. Carlo Chonga Esmaquel drove 4WD with a snorkel but we didn't go through there.
Othewise we had to pay $2000 fine.
The first thing we had to look to our own safety.
So we gave up fishing at the best fresh-water creek.

We saw many flood waters along the road.
We tried catching something there.

It's a very first time for me to catch a Junglepearch.
I didn't prepared a super light fishing tackles because I scheduled to catch more than 20 nice sized fresh-water Barramundi today.
But I thought Junglepearch should be a very nice game fish for small lures.
I enjoied catching this fish very much.

Normally, I used a floating leader line for catching Barramundi on the shore.
But I used a sinking leader line today because of a strong water current there.
This theory was told by Mr. Matt West before.

Mr. Sam Lew gave me a very nice fluorocarbon leader line before.
I decided to use it today.
Very expensive line. ☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Sam.
