I also think that the FG knot is overall superior to the Albright knot.
On the other hand, when I'm land-based barramundi fishing, I usually wade in up to my knees while continuously casting lures. I've been fishing at Mindil Beach, East Point, and Channel Island, but there's no guarantee that I won't encounter a crocodile there. I always had to stay vigilant of my surroundings while fishing. When I'm fishing, it's often windy. In those conditions, while keeping an eye out for crocodiles, I found the Albright knot more practical than the FG knot for reconnecting my leader line to my braid line. If the wraps in an Albright knot aren't neatly tied, its strength and reliability decrease. From my experience, the key to tying a clean Albright knot is to apply tension while pulling the lines, as shown in the image below. By performing this motion, you can quickly tie a neat and compact Albright knot. When fishing for barramundi from shore while wading up to my knees, there's a chance—like in my case—that I might get stung by a stingray through my diving boots. That's why I was fishing for barramundi alone from shore. My approach wasn't safe.
