Please don't misunderstand the meaning of Tide change.
The water must be moving.

I caught a 53cm Barramundi at the tide change.
Normally, Cultiva Suspending is used for catching a Bream.

Top man came back
56cm Barramundi
Mr. Allan Warchot

Mr. Allan Warchot is the top man of our land based Barramundi fishing.
But he was too busy to go fishing these days.
Finally, he's come back to our Barramundi fishing.

I should have known that he'd catch a nice Barramundi.

He was fishing right on the muddy water.
Tide: Outgoing

Allan's tackles:

Lure: SQUIDGY FISH/DROP BEAR 80mm
Jighead: OWNER/Berkley NITRO 1/8oz. 3.5g #2/0
Reel: SHIMANO CURADO 200E5
Line: 30LB Braid
Leader: Black Magic 40LB
Rod: ST.CROIX

Allan is a very, very able and experienced Baraamundi angler by land based.
He's still No.1.
Because it's not so easy to catch a nice sized Barramundi at the shallow water now.

Fish soup in Philippine style

I wouldn't kill these small fishes.
It's a result of my land based fishing on Saturday.
I caught many Trevallies.
These five fishes were among them.
They were damaged by my strong Barramundi tackles.

And so I made a very, very delicious fish soup in Philippine style.

◎ Boil the water.

Add following vegetables
1.Tomato
2. Onion
3. Lemongrass
4. Ginger
5. Chili

Add fishes.

Salt

That's all!

I was taught how to make it by Joe and Ramon.

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Joe and Ramon.

Amazing!

It's not fishy in smell at all.

Saturday afternoon
Trevally 11-15
RAPALA XR-8

I saw some nice sized Barramundis chasing mullets.
But it's too far for a lure to get to those barramundis.
They were out of the effective range with my lures.

I gave up catching a Barramundi immediately.

The water current was very strong.
I thought that there should be some Trevallies.
I had a very powerful Barramundi tackles today.

August 25, 2012 Trevally
Land based, Darwin, NT, Australia

Probably I caught more than 15 Trevallies.
Very strong Barramundi tackles gave some damages to five fishes.

I wouldn't kill them.

Finally I kept these five fishes for a soup in Philippine style.

Very quiet days

バラマンディールアー

Jan  Depends on weather
Feb  Depends on weather
Mar  Quiet
Apr  Very good
May  Good
Jun  Good
Jul   Very good
Aug  Good
Sep  Very quiet
Oct  Quiet - Very good
Nov  Depends on wind condition (Very good - Good) Sometimes too wavy
Dec  Depends on wind condition (Very good - Good) Sometimes too wavy

These above results are my experience of land based barramundi fishing in 2010 and 2011.
But I can't catch many Barramundis in August this year.
Normally, I couldn't catch many Barramundis in September.

Did you read the column of NT News (August 22, 2012) by Mr. Glenn Watt.
Title: The Chill factor
●In deep, dense weeds water temperatures stay more stable and fish will still actively feed.
●I always like breakfast in bed when it's cold outside... so do barra!

Very nice column.  I agree with him.
Considering my land based barramundi fishing, I think that there should be more stable water temperature somewhere now, and so Barramundis feel more comfortable staying there.
They won't come to the very shallow water around Darwin city now.
Or they don't like a circumstance of the very shallow water now because there were many soft sea weeds on the rocks now.  I can't see many small crabs there.
???? I don't know why.

I tried to fish at the tide change tonight.
Tide: Outgoing High

As a result,

By the way, I'm very happy now.
Mr. Mark Parkinson gave me his landbased experience in Barramundi fishing.
I'll try his point and tide next.
I've been a big fan of Mark since I'd watched his DVD.

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Mark.

I'm looking forword to seeing the next "BARRA TACTICS"

Fished at the tide change
8 Barramundis 2 Rockcods
and 1 Flathead
By Mr. Tim Bishop

I couldn't catch many fishes in September every year.
And I could catch many fishes in October.
September is the quietest month to my land based fishing.
I think that it's already begun this year.

Strictly speaking, I still can catch many Mosesperches. hahaha
But I can't catch any barramundis.
I don't want to catch a Mosesperch.
(Lure: OSAMU'S FACTORY/Photo)

However, Timmy caught many fishes including Barramundi recently.

I received an e-mail from Mr. Tim Bishop.

Hi Hiro, hope u are well, i didnt see u out this weekend... I went to X point on runout tide today and only got 1 flathead but it was a good 45cm one, then as the tide stopped there i went to Y point and saw a few of the other regular guys there like steven etc... Timmy

☆⌒(*^-゚)v Thanks!! Timmy.

45cm nice Darwin-sized Flathead was caught by Mr. Tim Bishop.
Tide: Outgoing Low

Timmy caught 8 Barramundis and 2 Rockcods.
Tide: Incoming Low (Tide change)

It's a very quiet time for fishing by land based around Darwin city.
But we still can catch some fishes at the tide change.

According to NT News on Sugust 14,
DARWINTES had a taste of Melbourne early yesterday morning as the Territory capital recorded its coldest-ever August morning.

The water was very clear and very cold today.

I tested a new lure.

Fish at the tide change!
The cold water
Flathead, Queenfish and so on
Mr. Carlo Chonga Esmaquel

I received a message from Chonga at just before the tide change.
I went to have a look at Chonga's fishing.

It's very, very hard to catch a Barramundi today to me.
I thought that even Chonga couldn't catch any fishes today.
But I was very much mistaken.

●Chonga lost a very big Queenfish and a small Trevally first.

And then, he caught a very nice Darwin sized Flathead at 18:58pm.

And then, he caught a Queenfish at 19:02pm.

And then, he caught a Mosesperch at 19:06pm.

Chonga used SHIMANO STELLA 2500FD, GLoomis GLX and ZIP BAIT MINNOW today.
He changed hooks.  He used DECOY hooks.  Those hooks were heavier than the original hooks.
Action: Twitch, twitch!

Fish at the tide change!  Everyone.

From Modern Fishing Magazine
Mr. Jayden Kickett

It's very hard to catch a Barramundi today to me.
But, Jayden caught 6 Barramundis today.

Mr. Jayden Kickett is a very good friend of Chonga.

Chonga sent an e-mail to me as follows,

Mate of mine, Jayden Kickett caught 6 barras today, in the arvo. His biggest was 75cm and 55cm, and the rest is small barras.
Caught close to Darwin.

Jayden's fishing gears today:

Lure used: dunno what brand, Chonga gave me a cheap minnow 110mm lure from 'modern fishing' magazine. Thanks chonga!!! Hahahaha

Rod: Sabre casting rod
Reel: Shimano Chronarch 50 spooled up with 30lb and 40lb leader
