Friday evening Golden Snapper #16 SHADS

I lost a nice sized barramundi at East Point before I came here.
The settings of dragging powers was incorrect, so I probably wouldn't be able to hook the nice sized barramundi properly.
My dragging powers might be too strong.

The tide was coming in the Mindil Beach.
The sea surface was slightly wavy.
But I had missed a good chance for catching a barramundi at that point.

Since the condition of the sea surface was nice today, I kept fishing there.

As a result, I caught a Golden snapper.

I was afraid it would be too wavy when I was fishing at Mindil Beach this evening.
I waded through the shallow water.
There were so many rocks covered with oysters under the water.
These rocks will bring many troubles of snagging to beginners.

As a result, I caught a small barramundi there.

The night was very dark. Green did work! Barramundi #905 -906 SHADS

The moon set late at night.
The night was very dark.
The sea surface was very wavy when I started fishing tonight.
The tide was going out.
The sea surface became wavy (not very wavy) around 10:00pm.
The water was only 30cm deep at the mouth of an urban creek.

I tried to use a new soft plastic lure.

SHADS 4 INCH PADDLE TAIL LIMEY with OWNER Berkley NITRO SALTWATER PRO 1/4oz. #1/0 jighead
The inside of this lure is hollowed.
The black patterns become a marked point to set a jighead.
In my case, the jighead is bonded to the mouth of lure.
Using 1/4oz. #1/0 jighead, the condition of combination is very good.
That reduced trouble of snagging.

I didn't know this.

As a result, I caught two small barramundi tonight.

Shady Camp Freshwater Barramundi #902-904 SQUIDGY PRO MONGREL

I visited at the Shady Camp for the first time in a while.
We went to the Shady Camp by my friend's 4WD.

We walked on the river bank of the freshwater side.
There were many trees along the banks of the freshwater river.
We found a little open space of the trees on the bank.

I hoped that a safe fishing could be performed while paying special attention, for example, when a crocodile was approaching us.

My friend said that freshwater barramundi should be hungry in the current situation there.

Quite so.  I thought.

I had one fish-bite every three casts.
Normally, I don't twitch a small soft plastic tail-bait lure while retrieving.
But I twitched it.
We didn't catch any nice sized barramundi after all.
It's an hour fishing.

Sunday morning barramundi #901 At Mindil Beach BOMBER LONG 15A

Mindil Beach is a very popular beach in Darwin.
I was there this morning.
The tide was coming.
The water current wasn't strong.
The sea surface was slightly wavy.

I went to the rocks.
Normally, I don't fish at the incoming tide at these rocks.
First, I used the top-water lure and then it was taken by a 60-65cm barracuda.
But I lost the first fish.

Second, I used the shiny hard-body lure and then it was nearly taken by a big trevally.

And I cast some lures across the same rock many and many a time.
Finally, I caught a 51cm urban saltwater barramundi.

There should be only one barramundi there this morning.
I probably caught the very one barramundi there.

Please try to see the expected advantages of the double hook.

• Double hook is hardly caught from the obstacles.

• Double hook can easily be detached without pliers because it doesn't need a split ring between hook and lure.  (It rarely would become weakness.  But the methods are many various for this problem.)

• Lure looks better with double hooks than with treble hooks to compare with an actual fish. The rear double hook moves so smoothly as they swim around in the sea water.  It looks like a tail fin.  The front double hook looks like pectoral fins.

• As a bonus, double hooks are also much nicer to fish than using treble hook.  They cause less damage for catch and release.

The 900th. barramundi that I've caught by land base was very strong and delicious. 60cm Urban saltwater barramundi #900 ZEREK Flat Shad

I went fishing to an urban rocks first this morning.
The sea water surface was flat.
The water was clear.
I gave up fishing there.

I went to the mouth of an urban creek next.
The sea water surface was rippled.
The water current was strong.
The water was murky.

I used ZEREK Flat Shad.
This lure is very effective for the strong water current.
It swims very well.
It's easy to twitch also.

The 900th. barramundi that I have caught.

I kept this fish for sashimi dish.

You must use KEWPIE Roasted Sesame dressing for saltwater barramundi's raw slices to eat in sashimi style.

If small boat fishing is dangerous, land based barramundi fishing is much more so. I don't want to magnify the danger, though. To minimize damage by accidents

I went fishing to an urban rocks this morning.
It's very easy to slip so I always have to watch my feet there.

No matter how hard I tried to watch my feet I couldn't avert an accident.
I had a nasty spill on the rocks.

Thanks to wear knee pads, I didn't injure my knees.

I didn't injure my elbow also.

Thanks to wear the shoulder bag, I didn't hurt my lower back.

Still, I kept fishing.
Finally, I didn't catch any fish.
Were it the average year, I would catch some nice sized barramundi in this season.
It was by far the worst July, August, September and October in my fishing life I've ever had.

I injured my palm after all.

I'm afraid I have internal bleeding on my middle finger.

And then I went fishing for the incoming tide at 6:14am.

I was so sleepy.
So I lost two Squidgy Pro Mongrels and one ZEREK Flat shad with lacking concentration.

It's a very small barramundi.
But "Next best thing to catch the fish." recently.
